Tomatoes: 3
Mozzarella: 1/4-inch thick slices or small cubes
Basil leaves: 10 – 20
Extra-virgin olive oil, for drizzling
Balsamic vinegar for drizzling ( optional)
Salt & pepper as per taste
Preparation
Step 1 :
Wash the basil leaves and tomatoes. Cut the tomatoes into thin slices. Layer alternate slices of tomatoes and mozzarella, adding a basil leaf between each, on a large, shallow platter or a salad bowl.
Step 2 :
Drizzle the salad with extra-virgin olive oil and season with salt and pepper, as per taste.
Step 3 :
Add the garlic aioli on the side or on top of the salad for a little flavour.
