Bhindi is packed with  potassium, vitamin B, vitamin C , folic acid, and calcium. It is extremely low in calories and has a high dietary fibre. It was proposed that okra/bhindi helps control blood sugar levels in type 1 , type 2 and gestational diabetes.

Polyphenols, including flavonoids and isoquercetin, and vitamins A and C are the major antioxidants in okra. Researchers also suggested that the okra decreased sugar absorption in the digestive tract, leading to a more stable blood sugar response. It’s rich in magnesium, folate, fiber, antioxidants, and vitamin C, K1, and A.
