Joshua Holland’s Quarantine Routine & Practical Recommendations To Maintain Optimal Health!
If 2020 has reiterated anything, it is most certainly that the old adage of ‘health is wealth’ has been underlined, highlighted and imprinted boldly at the forefront of our minds. While my field of expertise is indeed the health and wellness industry, this unprecedented time has brought to my awareness how fundamental preventative healthcare is Joshua Holland’s Quarantine Routine & Practical Recommendations To Maintain Optimal Health! Joshua J. Holland, Co-Founder SystimFit (Dedicated Biohacker, Celebrity Fitness Trainer, Holistic Health Coach & Sports Professional) & Tessa Cash, NYC-based creative writer - www.tessacash.com If 2020 has reiterated anything, it is most certainly that the old adage of ‘health is wealth’ has been underlined, highlighted and imprinted boldly at the forefront of our minds. While my field of expertise is indeed the health and wellness industry, this unprecedented time has brought to my awareness how fundamental preventative healthcare is. Although simple, this concept has been adopted all over the world to prevent the spread of the incredibly contagious COVID-19 virus, with the use of masks, social distancing and self-isolation. I’d like to share a few of my tried and tested tips and tricks to further bolster immune health so as to create a strong foundation for the body’s defense mechanism to rely upon. When it became clear that the COVID-19 was tenaciously contagious, I took the personal initiative to self-isolate early on, despite the absence of symptoms or a positive/negative test. I have a strong immune system thanks to my conscious endeavour of wellness and vitality, however COVID-19 was a stark reminder of how the world is so much bigger than the small bubbles we live, work and play in. Bearing this in mind, it was and remains to be of utmost importance to behave in a manner that puts the well-being of humanity as a collective first. I’m a man who walks the talk, and I felt it to be of great importance to set an example for my community and my followers in the directive of self-isolating early on in the piece, to keep the elderly and immuno-compromised in my building and community safe. The past three months have been a mirror reflection sans distractions, commute, travel and socialising into the work I’ve cultivated over the past ten years. My sincerest goal within my working life is to help people reach optimal health and wellness, and in a country that has a privatized healthcare system, the most efficient, alternative and logical way to keep prime health status intact is prevention and maintenance! One of the most effective ways I have come to maintain and champion preventative healthcare is via Ozone Therapy. Some may be skeptical about the protocol behind the administering of Ozone Treatment. However, after many years of research and experimentation, most recently with the acquired knowledge of patient treatment during the Ebola epidemic in Africa, I have come to a conclusion. While there are a few mildly unpleasant aspects, as well as a small amount of prior organization required, most of us would rather prefer a little preparation and unconventional discomfort as opposed to spending time in a hospital setting. We are all well aware of the risks associated with infection in a medical environment. So, what does ozone treatment entail? Ozone is chemically referred to as ‘O3’. Unsurprisingly it consists of three molecules of oxygen, two of which derive from a conventional molecule of oxygen (O2) and an extra molecule that is added via the veering of electricity. Ozone has quite a distinct smell and is naturally occurring in the atmosphere. It is the molecule that protects earth from the harmful rays of the sun (the ozone layer!) and is also responsible for cleansing the earth when thunderstorms and lightning occur. The distinct smell that is apparent after a storm has passed is evidence of ozone in the air! There are a few different methods that enable the electrical conduction of the artificial production of ozone, not limited to but inclusive of the use of an ozone generator (purchasable online), which requires an oxygen source being fed into the generator. One such source is an oxygen concentrator, a bulky device similar to a suitcase on wheels. Connected to an ozone generator, the oxygen concentration takes ambient air (21% oxygen), and converts it to 95% pure oxygen. While it is not 100% medical grade, it is exponentially purer and cleaner than breathing in regular air. I have an industrial oxygen tank in my repertoire of bio-hacking tools in my apartment, which creates 99.9% pure oxygen. I feed the oxygen from the tank into an ozone generator to create the ozone I need to administer treatments to myself! Ozonised air is a very effective way to kill bacteria, viruses and germ impurities that can inhabit insulated environments. You’re probably wondering how ozone treatments are issued! The most efficient transmission is by way of insufflation. Colloquially speaking this means to blow air or gas into a bodily orifice, thus the nose, rectum, vagina or ear. Ozone can also be infused into water but it’s more difficult to consume higher concentrations orally in liquid form. Drinking ozonized water could be classed as a preventative health care operative as opposed to a direct treatment for eradicating harmful pathogens. While the world has seemingly become a more fearful and confusing place that seems to be severely lacking in the ability to control or plan for the future, I have found comfort in focusing on the things I can control and ways in which to lean in to stillness, knowledge, understanding and the intricacies of the mobility of my body. With many distractions disappearing in front of our eyes, I have had the luxury of diving into research methodology behind various health and bio-hacking protocols. For instance, I have been training on my CAR.O.L Bike with oxygen which I juxtapose with hypoxic oxygen, hyper oxygen and of course, natural ambient air to create diversity upon which my body has to adapt while being challenged. I’ve also had time to take my MovNat Kit out of hibernation so as to focus on reconnecting and retraining my body’s natural movement abilities. The MovNat Beam Assembly Kit is a series of beam apparatus tools that allows for primal movement to be re-engaged which enables joints, muscles and tendons to redefine structural support within the body. The past three months have also provided ample opportunity for me to check in with myself. Being aware and cautious of what I consume stems across all facets of my life. While it is important to remain informed, constant social media, mainstream media and technological interaction creates stress, anxiety and irrational fear that clogs the mind. Having boundaries with what we consume and how we interact with people is vital to preserve a balanced and tranquil mental health, equilibrium. Fear is particularly rampant at the present moment and while it is important to check in with family, friends, coworkers and clients, it is of utmost importance to put our own (oxygen or cloth!) masks on first so we have a solid, strong and safe haven to retreat to when the storms of life descend. 2020 certainly hasn’t had any shortage of those! This time has also been a period of recalibration in terms of re-establishing my priorities. Making a checklist of ways in which I can organize my day and schedule so I am nutritiously fed, bolstered by supplements that support my immune system, sufficiently limber, mentally and physically challenged, and have had good quality sleep is a recipe for a well-adjusted mind, body and spirit. While checking out during times of extreme stress may be tempting, drinking excess alcohol, smoking cigarettes and partaking in substances that aren’t on the legal side of the fence actually create friction and add stress to the body by ramping up inflammation and adding pressure and toxicity to our everyday bodily functions. Doing away with habits that create a temporary release from stress is actually one of the best ways to preserve sound state of physical body and higher mind. I’ll leave you with a few practical recommendations that are key to maintaining optimal well-being! Drinking lots of clean water is vital in keeping our cells happy and thriving (we are 97~% water - remember!) There is a substantial amount of research that states that COVID-19 can be mitigated by drinking warm beverages. If this is something that gives you peace of mind then I’m all for it! Our chemistry is scientifically proven to change based on our beliefs. Repeating a daily positive mantra sets a tone of intention. Flooding our minds with positive self-talk changes the outlook of our perception, our actions, our words and our interactions with the world! It creates more consideration, more clarity, more peace and a firm platform upon which to steel ourselves in the intense world we live in. Other practical tips including washing our hands, reducing how much we touch our faces, mouths, noses and eyes, wearing a mask in public spaces and generally being more kind, considerate and aware of others. To close, constantly immersing myself in gratitude and reaching for the silver lining no matter how chaotic the world seems is something that has kept me grounded and humble. While these times are dark and overwhelming, I’m grateful and in awe of how the world has stopped, adapted, shared and shed light on systemic problems that will no longer be ignored or overlooked. I’ve come across data and photographs that show the earth is the cleanest it’s been for eons, that reflect crystal clear waters with happy fauna and that pollution in the atmosphere has significantly reduced. This forced change has prompted so much compassion, connection and gratitude for those who perform the essential jobs that look after us on multifaceted levels. COVID-19 does not discriminate, and while it has meant great deal of hardship, sacrifice and deep sadness for so many, this then creates space for the world to lean further into compassion, empathy and grace. Stay safe, remember your strength, cultivate peace and create happiness so that even amidst adversity, your most valuable self is protected.

Top 5 Lame Excuses Not To Exercise During Quarantine
I will start from tomorrow: You need to understand that there is no tomorrow if there is no today. If there is no now - there will be no tomorrow! Fitness is everything. If you don’t keep yourself fit you are inviting chronic health issues. It’s as simple as that! Top 5 Lame Excuses Not To Exercise During Quarantine Rakesh Uddiyar Director & Founder Body Wizard Fitness Academy & Celebrity Trainer I will start from tomorrow: You need to understand that there is no tomorrow if there is no today. If there is no now - there will be no tomorrow! Fitness is everything. If you don’t keep yourself fit you are inviting chronic health issues. It’s as simple as that! I don’t have access to gym equipment: This is a very common excuse. The truth is there is no interest to exercise. You can train anywhere - at home, office or even when on the move. All you need is a few things which are easily available. Try exercising with resistance tubes, water bottles, or any kind of weights which you can lift. It can be an empty gas cylinder as well. I don’t know how to train: If you really want to train you will. There are various online resources that are easily available. You can also refer to books on exercise or get in touch with an expert in the field. If training alone during the quarantine period is not appealing enough, try registering for some online classes. You can try Zumba classes, HIT workouts, Bachata, yoga and so on. All you need is a WiFi connection and you are good to go. When I train I get body pain: The body pain you experience after exercise is due to lactic acid. This is mainly produced in muscle cells and red blood cells. The lactic acid forms when UR body breaks down carbohydrates to use for energy when oxygen levels are low in UR body. But once the lactic acid lessens, UR body will get used to the movement or exercise UR trying to do. So don’t let pain put you down and ensure you move UR body. Exercise helps you to burn calories and also makes you mentally, physically and emotionally strong. Consider UR body to be a temple and take good care of it. I’m overweight but healthy & don’t care what people think: If this is your excuse, it means you are not motivated enough to take up any exercise. You want to be in your comfort zone. You are not able to control your mind. You need to realize that regular exercise will not only make you healthy during these troubled times but will also help you be the best version of yourself! You cannot assume you are ‘fit.’ Your goal should be to strive for both physical and mental fitness for overall wellness. Also, learn to control UR food cravings and ensure you don’t become or remain an emotional eater. This is all the more important during lockdown, as many people have little else to do besides cooking, eating and relaxing.

5 Valuable Quarantine Gifts For UR Mom
Nothing can express the strength of motherhood, it's natures highest law. Right since childhood women are naturally designed to have a balance. Call it a supernatural power women are born with, or a power that's cultivated. They're unstoppable and are up and about round the clock no matter how physically drained they are. Selfless & unconditional love is in abundance in their DNA. This mother's day think differently about UR mothers needs 1. Health Ever wondered the importance of UR mom's health and how it impacted the emotions the family. She's made sure UR health was in top shape as a child, its time you do the same for her. Has she had her annual check-up when was the last time she did a mammogram, when was the last time she met her gynaecologist and have you asked her about her general health and wellbeing. Getting to know her aches and pains will help you plan a wellbeing program for her. It is essential to keep tabs on her physical and mental wellbeing as both are related. Arrange all her medical records and keep a tab on her medication. If she doesn't have insurance, make sure she gets a policy or check if UR employer covers UR parents insurance. 2. Relax, Get To Know Her Better How well do you know UR mom? When was the last time you chatted with her about her likes and dislikes? Women believe in multitasking and sometimes can have stress or anxiety related to this, but will hardly complain. Let her loosen up a bit. 5 Latest Quarantine Workouts
Some of the things I’ve noticed as a current trend is people are going to online resources a lot more. So people are going online and using technology to either work with their trainers or find different classes that they want to do in terms of fitness. I’ve recently picked up practicing the steel mace which is a very ancient tool – like a long pole with a heavy ball towards the end of it and because of the difference of leverage points with this tool - a huge swing and momentum is created which UR body has to learn to navigate. I feel the number one thing that people are looking for is body weight exercises within the home. It is probably the most sought after trend right now! People are also now looking to train in a small environment as lots of us are at home. So they want to know things like ‘how to get a workout in a bedroom or hotel room or the ‘top tools you can use at your home.’ So now backpacks are used by putting books in the backpacks. Water bottles are used as small hand weights and thermos mugs are used as foam rollers – so there’s lots of ways to get creative! Currently, there’s also a big focus on mobility work. For instance, there’s stick mobility. It helps the body get into different positions to help deal with different mobility issues – it’s very valuable and very important. I use the videos online but I also try to come up with some of my own moves.

How To Store Food During Quarantine And Summer
How to store food during quarantine and summer This summer, combined with quarantine gave way to panic buying. We are buying more than we can consume during this period. Doing so gives us a false sense of food security. Unfortunately, this is causing excess food wastage during this hour of crisis, especially with perishable food. Storing UR food increases its shelf life and is extremely budget-friendly. Come to think of it; it isn't a bad idea to revamp an unused space in UR home and set up a pantry. Not just for emergencies, pantries work well during any time of the year too. Be it an emergency or a pandemic; you should not be anxious about starvation. Here is all the information that you needed. Cereals. The common problem that we face with storing cereals is dust, insects and moisture. Corn, wheat, rice, and oats in an airtight container/ bag is the safest way to keep them healthy. Make sure to mark your bags or container with the expiration dates. They are fresh for five months. After that, if you miss the crispness of the cereals, just spread them on a baking tray and give them 5 minutes in the oven at 350 °F before cooking them. Legumes & Pulses. Regularly infested by weevils, legumes/ pulses will be safe in an airtight glass container. Mason Jars are excellent to store them. As an extra precaution, add a bay leaf to the container as it prevents weevils. Make sure that there is no direct sunlight on the jars. If weevils are already breeding, refrigerate the bad for two weeks. Store them after getting rid of the weevils skeletons. Their shelf life will be around a year. Flours. Various flours like all-purpose, wheat, ragi, white, bread, cake, and self-rising flour get infested by insects or weevils. After purchasing these flours, chuck them into your fridge, transfer them to a food-grade airtight container after two days. This will keep away the flour from moisture and insects. Flours easily absorb odours, sterilize the container before storing the flour. Better to consume the flour within a year of storage. Dairy Products. The ideal temperature to store dairy products is 2°C to 4°C. Every refrigerator comes with a specific place to store dairy. This helps in protecting the diary products to absorb odours of the neighbouring ingredients. Always check the expiry date before buying and using dairy products. Herbs and spices. Wash and remove wilted and damaged leaves of the herbs. Cut the roots off and place the herbs in a ziplock bag or perforated bag. They stay fresh when you store them in the coldest part of the fridge (do not freeze). They will stay fresh for a week. For UR whole spices, seal them in an airtight container and keep them away from direct sunlight. They can be used for around two years. Use the ground spice before six months. Store the ground spices in an airtight container as well. To retain as much flavour and colour of chilli powder, refrigerate them. Nuts And Coffee Beans. Airtight containers help keep pasta, grains, nuts and other dry foods fresher for longer. Utilize mason containers, or any water/airtight container will do! Purchase entire bean coffee, and granulate it as required to get the best flavour. Store UR coffee beans in a water/air proof and container to keep it fresh, and use within 3-4 days. (In case if you purchased beyond what you can use in a couple of days, freeze the rest to keep it new.) Meat, Fish, And Eggs. For the fish to be fresh and free from contamination, it should be kept in a bag. Place a bowl of ice in the fridge and store your fish on top of the ice. Eat it as soon as possible! You can freeze fish to keep it fresh for longer durations. Store eggs in their unique carton. In case you can't decide if UR eggs are fresh, place them in a cup of water. Fresh eggs usually sink, while old eggs float. Meat and poultry must be kept in its original packaging if you eat it in the next day or two. If not, enclose it in a ziplock bag, then store it in UR freezer. Vegetables. Leafy vegetables like spinach, amaranth and mustard greens are challenging to stay fresh for a long time. Chop off the roots, wash them and pick healthy leaves. Dry them off on a paper towel. Pack them in a ziplock bag with a paper towel. They will stay fresh for 5 days. Make sure not to place them near fruits or raw meat. Potatoes, Garlic and Onions are safe when placed at room temperature with ventilation. Dividing them into little piles prevents rotting. They will be healthy to eat for about a month. If you purchase unripe tomatoes, store them after washing and drying them in a place without direct sunlight. They will take around 12 days to ripen. Store them in the fridge after they are ripe. Use them within two days. Brinjal, capsicums and lady's fingers retain their freshness in the fridge for about 8 days. Wash them and dry them before refrigerating them. Mushrooms in a paper bag is an excellent way to store them. Place it in the fridge and consume them within a week. Cut a firm cabbage and wrap in clingfilm and refrigerate it. It will be fresh for about 2 weeks. If you have an excess amount, make kimchi out of the cabbage to have an additional source of probiotics. Refrigerate a whole cauliflower with its stalk attached to it. Its shelf life is around 5 days. Carrots, beetroot and radishes stay in a refrigerator for up to a week. Wash them and pack them in a ziplock bag. In general, gourds are unpredictable as a minute scar can result in decreased shelf life. Wash them and dry them. Leave them over the counter, they stay fresh for 3 days. When you refrigerate them, their shelf life will be around 8 to 10 days. Fruits • At room temperature, mangoes are safe to eat for five days. When refrigerated, they can be consumed up till a week. • Berries are quick to go bad. Refrigerate them and enjoy them for a week. • Wrap papaya in a clingfilm, and it lasts up to five days at room temperature. Refrigerated papaya is good to eat for up to a week. • It's better to leave a pineapple on the counter as it ripens in about five days. • Muskmelon and watermelon can last up to 10 days at room temperature. Refrigerate them once they are cut up. • Oranges stay fresh and flavourful up to two weeks when refrigerated. • Never refrigerate bananas. Enjoy their natural goodness over the counter for five days before they completely ripen. Quick glance. Room Temperature - cereals, pulses, roots and tubers, bananas, spices and condiments.
