Ingredients list

French onion soup:
  • Vegetable oil:2tbsp
  • Medium Onion (sliced): 1
  • Garlic (minced): ½ tsp
  • Bouquet garni(2 -bayleaves, 4peppercorns,3 cloves)
  • Vegetable broth: 200 ml
  • Salt and pepper according to taste
  • Cheddar cheese:5 g
Lentil Crisp
  • Bengal gram soaked: 3 tbsp
  • Rice flour: 1 tsp
  • Onion and green chilly (Finely chopped): 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil: 2 tsp

Preparation


Step 1 :

Coarsely grind Bengal gram and add rice flour, onion, green chilli and season with salt.

Step 2 :

Shape the mixture into a baton (pattie). Heat a skillet and cook the patties on either sides until golden brown.

Step 3 :

For the soup, heat a pot and add oil. Add garlic and sliced onions and sauté untilthey turn golden brown.

Step 4:

Now add the vegetable stockand the bouquet garni. Allow it to boil on a slow flamefor 20 minutes.Season it with salt as per UR taste.Serve in soup bowls and before serving remove the bay leaves.

Garnish with lentil crisp and sprinkle cheddar cheese.
