Many of us strive to stay fit and maintain a healthy weight, but while we do so, we are definitely all guilty of having a few cheat days! This is especially true during the festivities. In view of this fact, it’s not uncommon for even celebs to indulge in their favourite foods once in a while. Here’s a sneak peek into our guest editor Rashmika Mandanna’s take on her food habits and what nutrition means to her. With the festivities around the corner, let’s try to understand why eating healthy is the start to achieving great health. It’s simple but sustainable practices that can make a world of difference!
What does food mean to you?
In my life, food plays a very crucial role. Food to me means survival and happiness. I got to know how important nutrition is for my body this week, during the prep for this photo-shoot. I avoided giving into temptations and my guilty pleasures!
Do you ‘live to eat’ or ‘eat to live’?
I live to eat! I always tend to enjoy eating delicious, but healthy food!
Seven workouts a week or seven meals in a day?
If I had to choose between seven workouts a week or seven meals a day, I would opt for seven workouts a week. I love working out and maintaining my fitness levels whenever I get a chance.
How do you resist the temptation of food?
I don’t resist any of my food temptations or cravings. I have days when I can eat whatever I want and feel like eating. On other days it’s just me counting on my will power to remind myself that I have the weekend to eat what I’m craving for.

What is UR favourite cheat meal?
I prefer anything sweet – any dessert, sweets or chocolate!
What does Rashmika eat before wearing a ghagra?
Sweet potato, fish or any source of protein.
What do you eat during the festive season?
I have anything which is usually home-cooked and, is one of the star dishes during the festivities made by my family or relatives.
How does UR Coorgi background influence UR eating habits?
I’m used to following an eating schedule every day because for a significant part of my life I’ve lived in a hostel. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are a must. But now since I’m in the industry, my food habits are all over the place! I wouldn’t say my Coorgi background has influenced my food habits. I would rather say I go with the flow. If my trainer tells me to eat or avoid certain foods – I follow the advice religiously.
Which top 5 foods do you avoid?
I try and avoid sugar and I don’t eat white rice. I’m less of a carbs person and therefore avoid anything high in carbs. I try and avoid junk food altogether and include good fats and high-protein foods in my diet at all times!
What U eat is crucial for UR health. Many health conditions are linked to the type of food U fuel UR body with. Being mindful of UR food choices can help U elevate UR health and URLife!
